Who Can Use Fitlane

Fitlane is intended for users who are at least 16 years old and legally able to consent to the processing of their personal information. Fitlane is not directed to children and should not be used by anyone under 16. If local law requires a higher age or parent/guardian consent, you may use Fitlane only when those local requirements are met.

Information We Collect

• Account information, including name, email address, password credentials, Apple sign-in ID, and Google sign-in ID.
• Profile information, including age, gender, height, weight, target weight, activity level, and diet preference.
• Nutrition and wellness information, including meals, calories, macros, water intake, timestamps, goals, and progress.
• Device and technical information, including device identifier, device model, operating system version, app version, IP address, logs, and diagnostics.
• Region, locale, and, if you grant permission in a future or current app flow, location information used for product localization, suggestions, security, or support.
• Support and feedback content, including messages you send us, wrong-calorie reports, feature requests, and data export or deletion requests.

Apple Health and HealthKit Data

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Fitlane asks iOS for permission before reading or writing HealthKit data. Depending on your choices and app version, Fitlane may read step count, active energy, basal energy, walking/running distance, cycling distance, workouts, heart rate, sleep analysis, body mass, height, body fat percentage, lean body mass, and dietary water. Fitlane may write dietary water and workout data.

Before iOS shows the Apple Health permission sheet, Fitlane explains the purpose of the connection and records your choice when you continue. Fitlane processes only the HealthKit categories you then choose to share, and uses that data only to provide features directly to you, such as dashboards, sync, progress, and personalization. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, third-party marketing, or unrelated data mining. Connecting Apple Health is optional, and you can change Health app permissions at any time in iOS Settings or Apple Health.

AI Nutrition Estimates

With your in-app permission, Fitlane sends data to Google's Gemini models through Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform to generate nutrition estimates, personalized meal suggestions, and Boxy coaching replies. Depending on the feature, the data sent can include meal or chat text, recent food logs, dietary preference, device region code, goals, and summarized nutrition, activity, or sleep progress. Fitlane sends this data through its servers only after you consent. Google Cloud states that Vertex AI customer data is not used to train or fine-tune AI models without prior permission or instruction. Vertex AI may retain data for limited periods to provide and protect the service. AI output may be inaccurate, so review and edit nutrition estimates before relying on them. If you do not consent, you can continue to log meals manually without sending this data for third-party AI processing. You can change this choice at any time under Profile → Data Controls → AI Data Sharing. Fitlane stores an account-level record of your consent or withdrawal, including the time, policy version, and applicable data categories.

How We Use Information

• Provide account access, authentication, subscriptions, support, and app security.
• Power nutrition logging, fitness tracking, HealthKit sync, personalization, reminders, and progress insights.
• Estimate nutrition using AI and let you correct entries.
• With your optional consent, understand feature use through account-unlinked PostHog analytics.
• Diagnose reliability problems through account-unlinked Sentry crash reports, which you can disable at any time.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and investigate service failures.
• Comply with legal, tax, accounting, App Store, platform, and security obligations.

Legal Bases for EU and UK Users

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information based on contract performance, consent, explicit consent for health-related data where required, legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, and legal obligations. You can withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, but some features may stop working if the data is needed to provide them.

Fitlane asks for explicit consent before storing and using health-related profile, nutrition, activity, and Apple Health information for personalized wellness features. Consent for sharing data with Google Cloud for Gemini processing and optional product analytics is separate. Privacy-minimized crash diagnostics are enabled by default based on our legitimate interest in maintaining a reliable service, and you can object by disabling them. You can withdraw AI and analytics consent or disable crash diagnostics under Profile → Data Controls. You can revoke Apple Health access in Apple Health settings. Because health profile processing is necessary for Fitlane's personalized wellness service, you can withdraw that consent and erase the associated data by deleting your account.

Third-Party Services

We use service providers to operate Fitlane, including Apple and Google for sign-in and platform services, Apple for in-app purchases, Google Cloud for Gemini processing through its Vertex AI platform, PostHog for optional product analytics, Sentry for privacy-minimized crash diagnostics, Apple diagnostics, APNs for notifications, and Google Cloud for hosting, storage, and infrastructure. PostHog and Sentry reports are not linked to your Fitlane account. Sentry reports do not include health data, meal text, or chat messages. These providers may process personal information only as needed to provide their services to Fitlane and are contractually required to protect it to standards that are the same as or equivalent to Fitlane's protections.

Human Review

Human team members may review support messages, feedback, wrong-calorie reports, account requests, and limited logs when needed to provide support, investigate abuse, improve quality, or comply with legal obligations. We do not use human review to make medical decisions.

International Transfers

Fitlane is operated from India and may process or store information in India, the United States, the European Union, and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections, platform terms, regional hosting, and transfer mechanisms recognized by applicable law.

Retention and Deletion

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Fitlane, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve reliability. You can delete your account in the Fitlane app under Profile → Delete Account. You can also request deletion by emailing legal@butterchickenstudios.com. Your account and profile are deleted immediately. Other associated personal data is deleted or de-identified within one week, and we confirm completion using your account email. Backup, billing, security, audit, and legal records may be retained for up to one year unless a longer period is required by law. App Store subscriptions are managed separately in your Apple ID settings.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, object to, or withdraw consent for certain processing of your personal information. You can delete your account in-app under Profile → Delete Account, or request export or deletion by emailing legal@butterchickenstudios.com. We aim to respond within one week, though some requests may take longer where verification, legal review, or local law requires it. EU and UK users may also complain to their local data protection authority.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service is perfectly secure, so you should use a strong password and keep your device and Apple or Google account secure.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Fitlane changes. If changes are material, we will provide notice in the app, on this page, or by another reasonable method.
